We believe that together, we can build a community free from poverty, prejudice and neglect in which all members stand on Solid Ground with the skills and confidence needed to achieve their dreams. For more than three decades, Solid Ground has helped our most vulnerable community members overcome economic crises and develop the skills and resources they need to thrive. We believe… (1) Our community has the resources, will and ability to end poverty. (2) All people have the right to food, shelter, social justice and opportunities. (3) Racism perpetuates poverty. To end poverty, we must undo racism.
About Solid Ground's Volunteer Center: In 2007, more than 4,500 volunteers provided over 500,000 hours of support to Solid Ground programs. Solid Ground has 30 different programs that rely on volunteers. We can accommodate any schedule or commitment length.
Solid Ground has an assortment of positions to accommodate many different schedules and interests throughout the greater Seattle area and Western Washington. We have Individual, Group, On-Call, and One-Day volunteer opportunities. As well as Internships, Work-Study, and Service Learning opportunities as well.
